Workshop Advanced Spatialization Control for the Sound Pavilion “The Morning Line”
By Jannis Lehnert, Sabine Schäfer
26.11.2015 “inSONIC2015” ZKM / HfG Karlsruhe
High above, deep below, far removed the speakers hanging in baskets of the sound pavilion The Morning Line (TML). Large-sized sound-spaces can be projected with this long-range speaker network. Thus, the polyphonic microcosm of insect and bird calls from “Audio Biosphere #1” (a sound art work of Studio <SA/JO> created in 2009); as well as the bells of the Friedenskirche in Düsseldorf, which is set as a sound differentiated eight-channel recording into the sound body of TML to listen to the subtle overtones of the bell sound in beguiling imaginary space heights. Especially for TML spatialization software has been programmed with interactive control for differentiated musical setting and movement of sound. Thanks to all who have contributed to the success of this project!
