The Institute for New Music at the Karlsruhe University of Music presents a three-part series of events on the artist Joachim Krebs. In cooperation with the Badische Landesbibliothek (BLB) and the ZKM Karlsruhe, a broad spectrum of the artist’s oeuvre and personality will be presented through performances of instrumental and vocal works as well as electroacoustic sound and media art by Joachim Krebs, complemented by lectures and talks.

The event at ZKM reflects on media artist and composer Joachim Krebs as an artist influenced philosophically, politically and transculturally.

Lecture:
Prof. Dr. Michael Harenberg, musicologist and director of the Sound Arts program at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB) from 2002-2022.

Live performance:
Rhizom I (1981) for bass clarinet and play-along band by Joachim Krebs, bass clarinet: Valentin von Paschotka-Lipinski (class of Prof. Julius Kircher) of the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.

Work presentation:
Electroacoustic and multimedia sound art of the artist
with archive material from the digital archive of the ZKM
